I agree with the poster. It does seem to make no sense whatsoever. A race should have their own unique bonuses. I am a avid Amarr sentinel user and I would like it if CCP would change this. An Amarr is supposed to be an armor tank and should not recieve shield bonuses. If it were to be made all armor bonus then an Amarr may actually have a chance to take the fire from a blaster tank wreaking havoc on your squad/teammates and he/she may be allwoed more time to use a forge gun and AV grenades to destroy the tanker. It would just make everyone more happy |

At level 5 you'd innately have 10hp/s that you could compound with rep mods or increase armor to tank with plates.
And yes, give the amarr the 2x armor resistances. Good idea. Thanks for agreeing by the way. But is'nt the 10 rep abit high? I mean maybe it is'nt considering the Gallante dont have much armor and I never player as that faction so I could be wrong. |

But yes I believe they should introduce a rep tank but as a sidenote, as an Amarr heavy I would get very jealous . Considering more han half my health is made primarily of armor. I wouldnt be much of an asset to my squad/teammates anymore becuase I would always still need a logi following me around. Maybe have a slight armor rep on Amarr as well? Just trying to keep everything fair is all. Nah - if you want shed-loads of armor ehp, you'll have to make the tough decision of putting an extra plate or a rep instead. With how slow you are anyway there'll never be a logi too far away ;) But why would one specific heavy get the amror rep when all should have have it. Some more than others depending on the faction. And as we all know.... logis usually don't help much anymore. They'll be standing next to a heavy more than half the time and not even repair. Or you get logis that only revive andno heal. Also if i should make a tough descion then why cant the gallente make a tough descision also. Again trying to keep things fair. I think you just like the idea because your not Amarr :) |

I think you just like the idea because your not Amarr :) For the same reason that Caldari have a 1 sec shield recharge time, Minmatar are fast and have quick stamina regen and Amarr have more base armor. Innate armor regen is a Gallente racial trait. But you're not honestly trying to argue that the 1--ONE-- hp/s granted by a Gallente heavy suit somehow imbalances the Gallente heavy vs the rest. That 1 hp/s will take 949 seconds to regen the suit from near-death to full. 949 seconds is OVER 15 MINUTES. If you can't get support within that 15 minute period, or you're simply not taking enough damage to matter, then 1) you're doing it wrong or 2) the enemy team is doing it wrong. Everyone knows that if you're fitting an armor suit, you have dependable Logi standing by or you have fit armor reppers. In neither case will the 1 hp/s break the balance toward Gallente. Um 9 times out of 10 there isnt a decent logi around. They revive then move on without healing. I can bet everyone is tired of that. Especially heavies. Why not make a compromise... giv Gal 3 hp/sec and Amarr 1 hp/sec. Then everyone can be happy. By the way... calm down abit, its forums not the Dust local lol. Im just trying to keep everything fair. |

Just trying to keep everything fair is all. Then you're playing with the wrong Logis. I play with the Logi's in my corp and they want me to be a masochist. Having 2-3 logis in a squad at a time, I get left behind in Warpoints with them just feeding off the damage I take. The only problem logi's have is trying to live trying to keep up with a moving Sentinel. You need logi support for your logi support half the time since they're an easier target then the Sentinel. Sadly yes Iam playing with the wrong logis. Itry to get a logi but they usually run off when I tell them Im going full plate and to stick to me like glue. Maybe Ijust have bad luck. But its been like this for 2 years now for me. When I do get a decent logi I do really good and they love the wp. But mostly its younger kids that yell at me for not having eyes in the back of my head when they get killed. |

In the Eve universe, Caldari are the shield masters, with Minmatar using shields to enhance their skirmish tactics (though some of their ships are armor). Gallente have been known to fit a shield ship effectively here and there (with their main love being active armor tanks), but never have Amarr used shields or even had respectable midslots to fit adequate shield boats (with requisite ewar and the like).
Please don't try and reinvent the wheel here, CCP. Many of us who play Dust are intimately familiar with Eve's races and their play styles. If anything, we need to be moving Dust closer to Eve: Online's racial profiles: Gallente need suits that give +25-50% increased armor repair effectiveness, Amarr need either resistance bonuses to armor or increased armor plate hitpoint bonuses, Caldari need the same Amarr style bonuses with respect to shields, and Minmatar need increased effectiveness on shield energizers, rechargers or regulators. The universe is already written and fleshed out. No need to reinvent a successful and lore-rich universe that's already established. ^This Totally argree with this. Very good post. WHY ISN'T IN IMPLEMENTED CCP
